NCP(SP) | BJP Wants to Unburden Itself of Eknath Shinde & Ajit Pawar

NCP(SP) | The Bharatiya Janata Party’s dismal performance in Maharashtra has ignited a blame game within the BJP cadre. While Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has offered to resign from the government and expressed his willingness to work for the party, the NCP led by Sharad Pawar sees a different game unfolding.

Mahesh Tapase, the Chief Spokesperson for Sharad Pawar’s NCP(SP), remarked that Devendra Fadnavis is well aware that Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar are liabilities for the BJP. “They have added no value to the BJP’s vote share in Maharashtra. Despite accommodating them in prominent government positions and offering seats to their candidates, the BJP finds itself at the receiving end with only 9 elected MPs from Maharashtra,” Tapase stated.

Tapase further asserted that Fadnavis offering to resign is a strategic move. “By doing so, he is essentially removing the foundation of the Eknath Shinde government. Fadnavis knows that without him, the ministry will collapse. This is a clever attempt to shift the blame onto Shinde and Ajit Pawar,” he explained.

According to Tapase, the BJP has realized that Ajit Pawar is no match for the formidable Sharad Pawar, who single-handedly orchestrated the entire election campaign for the NCP and achieved a remarkable strike rate of 80%, securing 8 seats in Maharashtra. “In its attempt to cut down Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray to size, the BJP has lost its credibility among the voters,” Tapase remarked jubilantly.
