Mumbai | Guardian Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha visited Rajawadi Hospital to meet the families of the injured victims from the unfortunate hoarding collapse incident at Ghatkopar, caused by stormy rain and wind.
Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha stated that currently, one person is in the ICU at Rajawadi Hospital, while the condition of the others is improving. The government will cover the medical expenses of the injured. Additionally, Minister Lodha mentioned that after discussions with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, appropriate financial compensation will be provided to the injured as per legal provisions. Individuals with less than 60% disability will receive Rs. 75,000, those with more than 60% disability will receive Rs. 2.5 lakh, and those with minor injuries will receive Rs. 50,000, as announced by Minister Lodha.
The large hoarding in question was erected illegally near the petrol pump. Despite a notice from the municipal corporation, the hoarding was not removed. There was also no safety audit or similar process conducted. Therefore, the police will apprehend the person responsible for this incident and appropriate action will be taken.
