Crops were damaged due to unseasonal rains in Pune district for the last two days

Pune – Crops on 11 thousand 227 hectares have been damaged due to unseasonal rains in Pune district for the last two days. 19 thousand 773 farmers have been affected by this rain and the agriculture department has expressed a preliminary estimate that more than 33 percent of the total production has been lost.

District Superintendent Agriculture Officer Sanjay Kachole said that crops such as rice, onion, sorghum, potato, maize, vegetables as well as grapes and pomegranate have been severely damaged and after the panchnama, the exact figures of the damage will be revealed.
