Ashok Chavan’s entry will surely strengthen the BJP and the Mahayuti – Fadnavis

Senior leader and former chief minister Ashok Chavan joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday in the presence of deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule. The induction ceremony took place at BJP state office in Mumbai where rural development minister Girish Mahajan, Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar, MP Prataprao Chikhlikar, senior leader Harshwardhan Patil, MLC Pravin Darekar, state general secretary Madhavi Naik, state chief spokesperson Keshav Upadhye and state media in-charge Navnath Ban were present. Former MLA Amar Rajurkar also bid adieu to Congress and joined the BJP with Shri. Chavan. On this occasion, Shri. Bawankule got both the leaders officially inducted in the party.

Speaking on this occasion, Shri Fadnavis said that senior and abled leader like Ashok Chavan joining the BJP is indeed an occasion to celebrate. Ashok Chavan has served as the head of the state twice and has also ably handled cabinet and state ministerial positions. His induction will definitely strengthen both, the BJP and the Mahayuti, said Shri. Fadnavis.

There is increasing faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership owing to the developmental works undertaken and hence many crucial senior leaders from other parties are getting inclined towards the BJP. And today, Shri. Chavan also joined the BJP only to be able to be a part of the developmental works carried out by PM Modi, thus working in the mainstream of development without holding any expectations for positions. Many other leaders and activists from other parties will similarly join the BJP in the near future, said Shri. Fadnavis.

Speaking on this occasion, Shri. Chavan said that his new political career is starting from today. I am joining the BJP to contribute towards the fulfilment of Prime Minister Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit’ (developed) and ‘Atmanirbhar’ (self-reliant) India. He said that he was immensely impressed with the progress of the country under the leadership of Modiji and that he would sincerely work towards strengthening the BJP in the state and also work towards winning more seats for the BJP in the upcoming elections. He also expressed his feeling that he will continue to work for the development of the country with a positive spirit and a development-oriented approach in future which is in accordance with ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.
