Pune Set for a Historic Revelation: Shri Balaji’s Untold History Unveiled Through Mahanatya Debut

Pune– Govinda Cultural and Social Foundation is set to create history in Pune with the grand presentation of ‘Shri Balaji Mahanatya – Itihas, Leela and Samarpan.’ This groundbreaking event marks the first-ever Mahanatya in Pune, showcasing the captivating history of Shri Balaji.

Scheduled to take place at Chordia Corner, Shanti Nagar, Kondhwa, from February 8th to 11th, daily same show 5 PM,  this Hindi Mahanatyam promises a mesmerizing experience. The five-storied stage, standing at an impressive 120 feet long and 60 feet high, will host a cast of 250 talented actors, including over 70 dance artists. The stage will come alive with the inclusion of real horses and groundbreaking robotic elephants, a first in the history of theatrical performances.

In a press conference held at the Pune Patrakar Sangh, Vishal Deepak Dhumawat, the writer, and director of this grand play, along with Adv. Sunny Ravindra Kolapkar, shared details about this spectacular production. They expressed their commitment to delivering a unique and immersive experience to the audience.

The funds raised from ‘Shri Balaji Mahanatya’ will be dedicated to temple construction and various social activities. Vishal Dhumawat emphasized the importance of contributing to the community, stating, "The Govinda Cultural and Social Foundation believes in making a meaningful impact on society. The proceeds from this grand play will support temple construction in Pandharpur and other social initiatives."

The inauguration ceremony on February 8th at 5 pm will be graced by the esteemed presence of Sri Tridandi Srimannarayan Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamy. Notable figures such as Director of ISKCON’s Govardhan Ecovillage Gauranga Das, Internationally famous H H Indradyumna Swami Maharaj. Maharashtra State Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil and MLA Shrikant Bhartiya will also be present as chief guests, adding to the significance of the event.

Adv. Sunny Ravindra Kolapkar shed light on the mission behind the Mahanatya, stating, "Many people are familiar with Shri Balaji but may not be aware of his complete history. Through ‘Shri Balaji Mahanatya,’ we aim to bring the rich history and dedication of Balaji to the forefront."
