Sunil Tatkare | Geete did not groom leaders, afraid of his own shadow
Sunil Tatkare | Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) State President and candidate for Raigad Lok Sabha Constituency MP Sunil Tatkare launched a scathing attack against Anant Geete for not being able to set up a single factory or industry during his decade-long stint as Heavy Industries Minister. While speaking at the Mahayuti campaign meeting in Palawan on Sunday, Tatkare said Geete deprived people of Konkan from employment opportunities.
“While handling the heavy industry ministry portfolio, former CM Vilasrao Deshmukh took a railway bogie factory to his hometown Latur, while Praful Patil took a large factory to Gondia when handling the portfolio for a few months, thereby providing employment to thousands of people. But Geete had the same account for two terms from Konkan and didn’t do anything,” Tatkare said.
Tatkare attacked Geete for wrongly accusing BJP of being ungrateful despite him contesting elections with the help of BJP for many years. He directly accused that Geete did not groom any leaders of his community over all these years due to insecurity and that he was afraid of his own shadow.
“Community Welfare Group bore fruition in a place like Mulund only because Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde laid the foundation by giving Rs 5 crores and Rs 7 crores respectively. Instead of expressing happiness, it is a tragedy that Geete did not even attend the inauguration of the hostel because he was sad,” Tatkare said.
Tatkare claimed PM Narendra Modi has developed and built infrastructure facilities in the North-East region of India as much as other Indian states. “We are proud that Ram Mandir was built in Ayodhya under his leadership. At the same time, he is building a mosque for our Muslim brethren as well. But they won’t say such things to the Muslim community and since they have no agenda for elections, they are trying to malign his image and polluting society’s atmosphere,” Tatkare said.
“Konkan has a coastline of 720 km and PM Modi has built massive infrastructure on the coastline. However, our Konkan youth are migrating to Mumbai in large numbers. My efforts will be to provide them with employment near their homes. I will work keeping a roadmap of five years next to me. I want you to support me choosing the ‘clock’ symbol and I will always be by your side,” Tatkare said.
