In the next four years, more than two crore farmers in the country will switch to organic farming 

Amit Shah on Organic farming – Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah expressed the belief that more than two crore farmers in the country will switch to organic farming in the next four years. The logo, website and information booklet of National Cooperative Export Council (NCEL) was launched yesterday by Shah in New Delhi, he was speaking at that time.

Many farmers have now adopted organic farming and the government is working to ensure that their organic produce gets an assured market, Shah said. The government is also trying to strengthen the cooperative sector in the country. He said that the aim of the government is to increase the export of agricultural products and thereby empower the farmers.

Shah said that NCEL organization will help in coordination between farmers, cooperatives and global market. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said in the program that if the cooperative sector also pays attention to ethanol production, India can meet the growing demand for biofuels in the world.
