Israel’s refusal to call for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip

Restrictions on the Israel-Palestine border will remain in place. An Israeli army spokesman dismissed the possibility of a ceasefire in a statement today, saying the conflict with Hamas was not yet over. He said that 291 soldiers of Israel have been killed in this conflict and 199 are missing. The death toll in Gaza has reached 4,000. Also, half of the population of Gaza, about 1 million citizens, have been displaced.

US Defense Secretary Anthony Blinken visited Israel today. Russia has demanded a humanitarian ceasefire between the two countries and a vote at the UN Security Council on Monday on a resolution condemning atrocities against civilians. While mentioning Israel and Palestine, Russia has avoided mentioning Hamas in this resolution. The fifth flight to repatriate Indians under Operation Ajay took off from Tel Aviv today.
