Organized VR Film Festival ‘Vroom’ from 28th October to 3rd November

Pune : Goethe Institute – Max Müller Bhavan is organizing VR Film Festival ‘Vroom’, a unique combination of technology and art, from Saturday October 28 to Friday. Done during November 3, 2023. The festival will be held on all days from 10 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 9 pm at The Base, Erandwane. The festival is open to all for free and admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis. However, please note that advance registration is required to participate in the festival. It is special that the audience can enjoy watching movies using VR.

Along with traditional storytelling, the effective and futuristic use of VR technology is a feature of this entire festival and fans will get an opportunity to watch as many as 15 films directed by world-renowned directors. The film festival will not only introduce fans to the works of innovative filmmakers from around the world, but also inform about how technology can be used to challenge traditional boundaries and use virtual reality and 360 filmmaking, organizers said.
All these films will be screened in four sections namely Uncertain Times, Fresh Perspectives, Imagined Realities, Missing Pictures and include ‘Child of Empire’, ‘You Destroy, We Create’, ‘Kindred’, ‘The Choice’, ‘Midnight Story’, ‘ Movies like ‘Rock Paper Scissors’, ‘Birds of Prey’, ‘The Seven Story Building’ are included. Films screened at the festival cover themes ranging from independence, inspiring women, animation-, digital media revolution, and the gap between traditional 2D and VR storytelling.
