World Cup: South Africa beat Afghanistan by 5 wickets

South Africa defeated Afghanistan by 5 wickets in the ICC Men’s World Cup cricket match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad yesterday. 245 run challenge for victory; South Africa finished with 5 wickets and 15 balls to spare.

Earlier, Afghanistan scored 244 runs on the back of Azmatullah Omarzai’s unbeaten 97 while batting first. South Africa’s Rassie van-der-Deusen scored an unbeaten 76 while Gerald Coetzee took four wickets. Rassie van der Deusen was adjudged the man of the match.

South Africa have already reached the semi-finals and will face Australia on November 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Australia and Bangladesh will be played today in Pune and England vs Pakistan in Kolkata.
